Dulwich Cricket Club, established in 1867, is one of the leading cricket clubs in south London. We play competitive Surrey Championship Cricket at the highest level – we have three teams in their respective Premier Leagues and two fourth elevens in the Surrey and South Thames leagues. We put out seven Saturday teams, 3 Sunday teams and a midweek team. In addition, the club provides a healthy and progressive youth development environment, supported by top quality professional coaching. An interesting history of the club is available here. Last season we launched ladies cricket and we now have two teams playing a mixture of league and friendlies.

One of the key attractions to many members, be they social or players, is the venue. The Club is in the heart of Dulwich Village, in an almost countryside atmosphere, with good local transport, free parking and a genuine family atmosphere.

The Cricket Club is part of Dulwich Sports Club, which also provide thriving facilities for Tennis – all-weather and grass courts, Squash – 4 courts, Croquet – international standard greens as well as the base for Dulwich & Honor Oak Hockey Club.

The Club, like many Clubs, believe that all players must be provided with the best opportunity to enjoy and develop their game. In winter, the Club runs a series of indoor nets. During the season, the Club has formal training and coaching sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays (6.30pm), supported by our own qualified club coaches. The ladies will train on Wednesday evenings.

Selection Procedure

The Selection Committee will meet every Tuesday throughout the season to select teams for the following weekend, and also for any mid-week matches in the following week.

Before Tuesday, ALL playing members must indicate their availability or otherwise for the forthcoming matches by either:

(a) marking the availability list circulated following the last game, or
(b) notifying the Team Secretary.

Selected teams will be posted on the Pavilion notice board and on the club website.

If, after the teams have been selected, a player finds that his availability position has changed, he must inform the Team Secretary immediately (the latter should also be notified at once of any alteration to private address or telephone number). No texts or emails!

Please keep cry-offs down to an absolute minimum, otherwise you will not only be letting down the Selection Committee but also your team, your Club and your opponents.

Members are particularly requested to be on the ground, changed and ready to play 30 minutes before the arranged starting time of any match in which they have been selected to play.

Bad Weather

If members are in any doubt because of bad weather as to whether their game will be played or not, it is their duty to telephone either their Team Captain or the Team Secretary. If there is any doubt memebers will be expected to turn up. No members will be notified individually.
