Dulwich 2nd XI vs. Dorking

Result: Dulwich Win

Dorking 133 all out and Dulwich 134-3

Blink and you might well have missed most of the action in this game. Quite aptly let down by the trains, Richard Beeching arrived 15 minutes after the start and found Dorking 14-3. Whilst changing into his whites, Dulwich claimed a fourth, and after standing around in the gully for a few more overs, Dorking were 20-7. The most impressive opening spell of the season so far had left David Gritton and Mohammed Hadi with 3 wickets a piece and the outcome never in doubt. The home team's eventual total of 133 was purely down to one knock of 85 that was eventually terminated by a stunning catch in the covers from Steve Hale. Having dismissed every team they've bowled at in this campaign, Dulwich are rampant with the ball.
They're not too bad with the bat either.

It took a mere 24 overs to reach the target, with the only blemishes being the loss of all three of the major run scorers who sealed the victory in style. Steve Hale (35), John Acland-Hood (47) and Dan Calquhoun (40) all played with an assured fluency on a track almost as true as the A24 most of the team travelled down on a gloriously sunny day. A trip to 4th placed Leatherhead next week could well be the toughest test of their title crudentials to date, but now with 5 wins out of 5 (including a win against their nearest rivals Chessington), Dulwich will only have victory on their minds.
