Dulwich 1st XI vs. Horsley & Send
Dulwich 272-6 declared and Horsley & Send 141 all out
A fine unbeaten century by New Zealander, Jack Lusk and five wickets
for former Surrey fast bowler, Mark Kenlock steered Dulwich to
a 131 run victory in their Division Two top of the table clash
with third placed Horsley & send. The Dulwich victory gave
them their eleventh win out of twelve games and a handsome lead
at the top!
Dulwich got off to a quick start with opener Raj Tulsiani scoring
21 off 15 balls. Richard Farrow and Ty Hopes then consolidated
with a stand of 78 in 26 overs before Farrow ran himself out for
48. Hopes followed soon after for 39 leaving the score at 111-3.
The appearance of “Nelson” set the stage for a stand
of 132 in only 17 overs between Lusk and Mark Kelly before Kelly
was dismissed for 33 off 40 balls. Lusk went on to complete his
hundred and finished on 114 not out off only 77 balls. This innings
took his aggregate for the season to 453 at an average of 90.6.
The Dulwich innings ended on 272-6 after 55 overs. 117 runs had
been scored off the last twelve overs of the innings.
Horsley & send started their reply confidently with a stand
of 67 in 15 overs. Three wickets then fell to the spinners with
Ty Hopes taking two and Graeme Hough one to reduce the visitors
to 80-3. The fourth wicket pair seemed to be to be leading them
to safety as they added 48 in 12 overs. That stand was broken by
a run out whereupon Mark Kenlock struck five times in four overs.
Ty Hopes picked up a wicket at the other end as Horsley lost their
last seven wickets for 13 runs to be all out for 141. Mark Kenlock
finished with 5-34 off 10.4 overs taking his season total to 31
at an average of 9.4.
Top of the table, Dulwich entertain second bottom Old Hamptonians
at home in the Castle Lager Surrey Championship next week.
