Match Reports

Saturday 31st May 2003
Dulwich 1st XI vs. Dorking

Result: Dulwich Win

Dorking 143 all out & Dulwich 147-3 wickets

Division Two leaders, Dulwich made it five wins out of five with a convincing seven wicket victory over Dorking.

Put into bat, Dorking found scoring difficult against the Dulwich openers and declined to 26 for 3 wickets after eleven overs with Mark Kelly claiming two wickets and Mark Kenlock one. New Zealander Danny Barclay led a fight-back for Dorking taking them to 113 -4.

Kelly’s return for his second spell brought three wickets in successive overs and final figures of 5-34 off fourteen overs. Spinners Ty Hopes and Phil Eldridge then polished off the innings to dismiss Dorking for 143 in just 51 overs. Hopes finished with 2-28 off twelve overs and Eldridge had 2-24 off ten overs.

The Dulwich openers Richard Farrow and Raj Tulsiani took advantage of some wayward bowling to put on 83 for the first wicket in just fifteen overs. Tulsiani was first out for 48 made off 49 balls containing 40 runs in boundaries!

Dulwich skipper, Farrow was joined by Stuart Ferguson and together they took the score to 121 before Farrow was dismissed for 59 made off 77 balls. This was Farrow’s third fifty in five championship innings and takes his aggregate for the season to 241 at an average of 48.

Ferguson was dismissed with ten runs still needed leaving Jack Lusk and Ray Tudor to see their side to victory.

Dulwich entertain Mitcham in the Castle lager Surrey Championship next week.
