Dulwich 1st XI vs. Dorking
Result: Dulwich Win
Dorking 143 all out & Dulwich 147-3 wickets
Division Two leaders, Dulwich made it five wins out of five with
a convincing seven wicket victory over Dorking.
Put into bat, Dorking found scoring difficult against the Dulwich
openers and declined to 26 for 3 wickets after eleven overs with
Mark Kelly claiming two wickets and Mark Kenlock one. New Zealander
Danny Barclay led a fight-back for Dorking taking them to 113 -4.
Kelly’s return for his second spell brought three wickets
in successive overs and final figures of 5-34 off fourteen overs.
Spinners Ty Hopes and Phil Eldridge then polished off the innings
to dismiss Dorking for 143 in just 51 overs. Hopes finished with
2-28 off twelve overs and Eldridge had 2-24 off ten overs.
The Dulwich openers Richard Farrow and Raj Tulsiani took advantage
of some wayward bowling to put on 83 for the first wicket in just
fifteen overs. Tulsiani was first out for 48 made off 49 balls
containing 40 runs in boundaries!
Dulwich skipper, Farrow was joined by Stuart Ferguson and together
they took the score to 121 before Farrow was dismissed for 59 made
off 77 balls. This was Farrow’s third fifty in five championship
innings and takes his aggregate for the season to 241 at an average
of 48.
Ferguson was dismissed with ten runs still needed leaving Jack
Lusk and Ray Tudor to see their side to victory.
Dulwich entertain Mitcham in the Castle lager Surrey Championship
next week.
