BECKENHAM & SYDENHAM 240-4 (45 overs) beat DULWICH 168-4 (45 overs)
Dulwich enjoyed some useful pre-season practice in a 45-over friendly against Beckenham & Sydenham from the Kent Premier League, but succumbed to a 72-run defeat.
Chris Isles and Jason Bilimoria got Beckenham off to a good start with an opening stand of 133 in 29.3 overs. Bilimoria was first out for 48, stumped by Sam Taylor off Sunny Singh. This brought in James Evans, who hit 38 off only 23 balls in a second wicket stand of 54 with Isles, who went on to make 106 off 115 balls. Singh, with 2 wickets for 61, was the most successful bowler as Beckenham closed on 240-4 off their 45 overs.
In reply, Dulwich were unable to force the pace against accurate bowling and settled for batting practice. Anil Mahey was out early, run out by a direct hit. Singh then joined Richard Farrow in a second wicket stand of 105,with Singh making 37 and Farrow going on to 81. New skipper Mark Kelly finished unbeaten on 25, as Dulwich closed on 168-4.
