Dulwich CC Colts Section

The Dulwich Colts Section has grown dramatically in numbers in the last four years. If you are interested in joining or require further information please contact our Membership Secretary as soon as possible. .

We now have nine sides in the NEC Surrey League at U-8 to U-15 levels including U-10 and U-12B teams and hope to also stage a number of friendly matches during the Season, which runs from the end of April until early August. Our aim is to develop the enthusiasm and proficiency of young players and hopefully encourage them to continue with the Club to become players at Senior Level.

There are several new Developments for this Season:

  • Allen Blackford who runs the coaching sessions has made some changes to coaching days which should make coaching sessions more focused-please refer to his coaching form and contact him if you have any queries.
  • Andrew Rawstron, last year’s successful Under 11 Manager is now responsible for co-ordinating Under 10 to Under 12 Cricket and will be liaising with managers of those teams.
  • For this Season we are running teams from Under 8 to Under 15 age groups with two Under 11 sides and B teams at Under 10 and Under 12  age groups.
  • From Under 10 upwards we want Club members to have a good chance of playing matches on a regular basis. For the Under 9s  and other we can arrange friendlies in addition to League matches but only with active parental help. Thank you to those who continue to run sides or have volunteered to do so. Your help is very much appreciated.
  • The Club now has Academy and Development Squads made up primarily of 17 year olds but with some younger and older players to develop the transition from Colts to Senior Cricket. We are keen to identify further young players with the potential to play First Team Senior Cricket.

We are always grateful for offers of help with team management, administration, umpiring and scoring even if you are only available for a few games. The Cricket Club organises a number of social events during the summer to which Colts Parents and often Colts are invited. Many of our former Colts have begun to play in the Club’s senior Saturday and Sunday teams. We currently run seven so there is plenty of opportunity. If you wish to be considered please contact John Lawrence on 020 8761 2091.
