Sat 26th May – 4th XI v Ashstead

DULWICH 259-4 beat ASHSTEAD 107 by 152 runs

An explosive Raj Tulsiani century set up a comfortable win for the 4s on a picture perfect afternoon in the shadow of Box Hill. Having been inserted in glorious weather, Tulsiani and Charlie Kemp got Dulwich off to a pacey start, reaching 52-0 from 10 overs. Kemp departed soon after for 21 but progress continued consistently through the middle part of the innings as Tulsiani shared a profitable partnership with Chris Ford (22). After being dropped twice in the 60s and running out debutant Ford, Tulsiani reached an entertaining hundred and continued in the company of Abu Arabi (31*), flaying the Ashtead bowling to all parts before finally succumbing for 154. With a few scampered runs in the last few overs, Dulwich closed on 259-4 from 45 overs.

After tea Dulwich took the field determined to make it 3 wins out of 3. Some hostile bowling from Prassana Callaghan (2-14) and Mangal Nasiri (3-17) saw Ashtead struggle to challenge our total. The opening bowlers were backed up by Phil Robinson (1-15) and Kanak Patel (2-22), with Abu Arabi (2-15) providing a spin option to captain and keeper for the day Simon Bailey.

The final wicket fell with Ashtead on 107, giving Dulwich the win by 152 runs. Happy birthday to Tarun Mahey who had the pleasure of spending his birthday keeping Dulwich top of the league!
