The weekend rounded-up – 3rd June

A mixed bag of results saw only two Dulwich sides record victory on Saturday.

The 1st XI returned to Burbage Road for the first time in three weeks for their fixture with Worcester Park. A tight bowling a fielding display kept the visitors to 174 in the first innings. Tom Savil was again in the runs – his 58 leading Dulwich to 105-3 before they collapsed to 146-9, with a resolute final wicket partnership ensuring Worcester Park took only the winning draw from the game. In the reverse fixture at Worcester Park, the 2nd XI made it five-from-five with a comfortable eight wicket win. Chasing 209 for victory, Ed Towner (108*) and Nick Hudson (72*) shared in a memorable 175 run partnership to maintain Dulwich’s position at the top of Division 1.

The 3rd XI took on Wimbledon, confident on the back of three straight wins. Good bowling from Lawrence Taylor (4-40) and Abu Arabi (4-37) helped dismiss Wimbledon for 175. Dulwich’s run chase never got going in response and they were bowled out 50 runs shy of their host’s total. Full report here.

Also facing Wimbledon, the 4th XI suffered defeat by 70 runs. But a pair of 71s from James Worley (71) and Siraj Durrani (71) helped the 5th XI overcome Bromley Common by 68 runs. Full report here.
